Community Standards

These Community Standards apply to the MyEchoes mobile application ("MyEchoes" or the "app") operated by MyEchoes Software LLC. These standards govern all content, interactions, and behavior within MyEchoes, including echoes, circles, comments, direct messages, and user profiles.
MyEchoes is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for location-based community building. These standards explicitly prohibit content and conduct that endangers users, particularly minors.
1. Zero Tolerance: Child Safety
MyEchoes has ZERO TOLERANCE for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Explicitly Prohibited:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any visual depiction, description, or content sexualizing minors
- Grooming: Attempting to establish trust with a minor for sexual purposes
- Solicitation: Requesting sexual content from or offering sexual content to minors
- Sexualization of Minors: Content that sexualizes children in any way, including text, images, or suggestions
- Trafficking or Exploitation: Facilitating, promoting, or depicting exploitation of minors
- Inappropriate Contact: Adults initiating inappropriate conversations with minors
Enforcement
- Violating content is removed immediately
- Accounts involved are permanently banned without warning
- Reports are made to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law
- Device identifiers may be permanently blocked
Age Requirements
MyEchoes requires all users to be at least 13 years old. Users under 18 require parental consent. We reserve the right to verify age and close accounts that violate age requirements.
2. Prohibited Content
Illegal Content
Content that violates laws, including:
- Content that exploits or endangers children (see Section 1)
- Illegal drugs, weapons sales, or contraband
- Human trafficking or exploitation
- Terrorism or violent extremism
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Fraud, scams, or financial crimes
Adult Content
- Pornography or sexually explicit material
- Nudity or sexual acts
- Content promoting sexual services
Violence and Gore
- Graphic violence, torture, or mutilation
- Content glorifying violence
- Threats of violence against individuals or groups
Hate Speech and Discrimination
- Content attacking individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or immigration status
- Slurs, stereotypes, or dehumanizing language
- Symbols associated with hate groups
Harassment and Bullying
- Targeted harassment or intimidation
- Sharing private information without consent (doxxing)
- Unwanted sexual advances
- Stalking or repeated unwanted contact
3. Reporting Violations
How to Report
MyEchoes users can report content or behavior that violates these standards:
- In-App: Use the "Report" or flag option on echoes, comments, circles, or profiles
- Direct Messages: Report DM threads from within the conversation
- Email: info@myechoes.app for safety concerns
Emergency Situations: If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911 in the US) before reporting to MyEchoes.
Reporting CSAM
If you encounter child sexual abuse material:
- Report it immediately using the in-app flag feature
- Email info@myechoes.app with subject "CSAM Report"
- We report all CSAM to NCMEC and cooperate fully with law enforcement

4. Moderation and Enforcement
Our Approach
MyEchoes uses a combination of:
- User Reports: Community flagging of violations
- Automated Detection: Technology to identify prohibited content
- Human Review: Trained moderators review flagged content
Enforcement Actions
Depending on severity, we may:
- Remove Content: Delete violating echoes, comments, or messages
- Warning: Notify user of violation (first-time, minor infractions)
- Temporary Suspension: Restrict account access (repeated violations)
- Permanent Ban: Terminate account and block device (severe violations)
- Report to Authorities: Involve law enforcement when legally required
Appeals
If you believe we made an error:
- Email info@myechoes.app with "Appeal" in subject line within 30 days
- Include your username and details of the decision
- We will review and respond within 7 business days
Note: Decisions involving child safety, terrorism, or legal violations are generally not appealable.
